Lurker here from r/science. Yall seem to be a cult?

I've been lurking around this sub and its probably because I'm not familiar with the subject but I get cult vibes from the majority of the posts and comments. From the constant posts about how "im gonna live forever" and "im gonna miss out on cool stuff" if I die before the "singularity" to the constant shitting on anyone who doesn't have faith that this new scientific "god" is real and will save us all. From the constant posts dissing science subreddits because they aren't good enough for your new "god". Everytime I read a post or comment that is skeptical about this subject it gets instantly downvoted. I have no idea who Kurzweil is but from the way you guys talk about him it seems like hes the "jesus" of this cult.<br><br>The amount of misplaced hope all of you have in science is amazing, not in a good way.
