This is kind of a tough question, because "most historical" can mean a lot of things. So you can kind of decide on what "historical" means to you.

Anyways, I am from the Ogden Utah area. So, I'm sure there is something even more historical than my choice.

The answer I was thinking of was the Golden Spike. It is the location where the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroads meet. These two railroads were the two tracks that comprised the Transcontinental Railroad, which connected the East and West Coasts of the United States by rail. *edit: As mentioned in some of the comments, the Transcontinental Railroad did not actually connect the East and West Coasts*.

The railroad was completed on May 10, 1869, and it instantly cut travel from months to under a week.

The actual golden spike is now located at Stanford University, but a replica sits in the location that it completed the Transcontinental Railroad.
