What are your thoughts on how Israel dealt with Gaza in the recent conflict?

A US citizen with an interest in politics here. I’m particularly interested in how Israel deals with the Gaza strip and thought that this was a good opportunity to see how Israel would deal with a recent conflict. I’m not trying to say Israel is evil, or the Palestians are evil, I’m just looking for peoples thoughts on it. I haven’t done a ton of research into this but I believe that when the US was first founded we stole a shit ton of land from the Native Americans. The whole situation just seems really similar. Both the US and Israel have to deal with a ton of terrorist attacks from the groups they took the land from, both the Gaza strip and Native American land is vastly poorer than the rest of the country, and so on. Again, I’m not saying Israel is bad, it just seems like this is a bad situation.
