My student truly saved me

I (27/M) am a teacher at a rather poor school. It’s not a lot, but we make do. <br><br>My mother passed away three weeks ago and the students have been amazing contributors to the gofundme. Today I had some students stay after to help me with some stuff and one of my students brought me a jar with money in it. I asked what it was and he said it was for the gofundme. I didn’t want to count it in front of him but he insisted. I am not one to cry easily but I’m crying as I write this and I did cry when I counted it. <br><br>He raised $103.37. I asked how he got it and he had sold snacks. I asked where he got the snacks from and he said, “Me and my mom went to Walmart. I used my birthday money and my old games to get money for the snacks.” <br><br>I was so touched by this. This kid hasn’t even had lunch money for the last three weeks but he did this for me. responseType
