I just watched the debate. As an brit I was looking forward to seeing what the American presidential debate is like in comparison to ours. Honestly I am very shocked at how terrible standard of debate it is

I am not going to comment on policy and I completely understand the election is not about the debates.<br><br>What I want to comment on is the general standard of the debate. As a resident of the UK, I am used to viewing our leaders go head to head and talk about different issues. This varies from topics such as policy, the economy, national security and more. Generally the standard is incredibly high. Politicians are well rehearsed and are able to clearly state their talking points. They are well prepared for common questions. I view ours as a good example of what a national debate should look at.<br><br>I watched tonight's debate and was honestly shocked. From what I could see there was little to no substance and no clear talking points. I saw one comment on Reddit that basically summarised it <br><br> Trump: I can barely breathe, I might be dying <br><br> Biden: Do you need a glass of water Donald?<br><br> Trump: NO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT <br><br> Biden: Okay so what were you going to say?<br><br> Trump: NO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT <br><br> Biden: What did you mean by-<br><br> Trump: YOU CHEATED <br><br> Biden: No I didn't. I'm just trying to have a conversation with you, because we're in a debate right now.<br><br> Trump: NO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT <br><br> Biden: What do you want to talk about then?<br><br> Trump: I'M BEING ROBBED <br><br> Biden: Okay, but what do you want to do about-<br><br> Trump: NO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT <br><br> Biden: Not once did you talk about the Supreme Court tonight. <br><br> Trump: YOU CHEATED <br><br> Biden: Why won't you talk about the Supreme Court? <br><br> Trump: SHE STOLE THE ELECTION <br><br> Biden: You're not even talking about the Supreme Court. <br><br> Trump: NO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT <br><br> Biden: Why not?<br><br> Trump: I CAN BARELY BREATHE. I'M FIGHTING OFF A BULLET RIGHT NOW.<br><br> Biden: You literally said we weren't going to talk about that. <br><br> Trump: BIDEN CHEATED, HE CHEATED. IT WAS A MASSIVE FRAUD. NO ONE KNOWS MORE ABOUT FRAUD THAN ME. <br><br> Biden: No one knows more about concessions than you. <br><br> Trump: I'M NOT CONCEDING. YOU CHEATED. <br><br> Biden: Okay Donald, but what about electoral reform? <br><br> Trump: NO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT <br><br> Biden: Why not? <br><br> Trump: I'M BEING ROBBED. NO ONE KNOWS MORE ABOUT ROBBERY THAN ME. <br><br> Biden: Is you're answer to every question "I'M BEING ROBBED?"<br><br> Trump: YES.<br><br> Biden: Okay.<br><br> Trump: YOU CHEATED.<br><br>So yeah that pretty much sums up my view on it. Hope I didn't come across as too biased.
