I cannot fathom why men bring their wives/girlfriends to other countries with no regard for modesty laws.

I am a 69 year old female that has traveled to many countries in South America, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Caribbean. Central Asia is my favorite, and have traveled to Uzbekistan three times.

I have never seen the disrespect from men and their spouses/companions as I did on my last trip to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyztan, and Kazakhstan. Most of the inconsiderate, ignorant men and women were young, from Europe, were mostly German, and French.

I heard women ask when visiting a Mosque, if they could uncover their shoulders. The answer was no. The solution? Men would take pictures of their spouses in a low cut sundress, uncovered head, uncovered shoulders. I was pissed off.

I heard men say they were "hot" and that it makes no difference that the women would cover up. Again, the solution? Men taking pictures of women dressed in short shorts, tank tops that showed their cleavage, no head scarf. Again, I was pissed off.

I saw women in short skirts, short shorts, tank tops and no head cover in the bazaar. I was pretty upset.

I followed a young European couple up 5 flights of steps to the top of a minaret, and saw a woman in a sundress with no head covering. I was angry, and reminded her that it was disrespectful to be uncovered.

I have never been to a country that encourages "immodest" dress. I cannot understand why European, Asian, and South American men bring their wives/girlfriends to other countries and have no regard for rules that govern "modest" dress.
