Google AI conversations are so sanitized to the point of uselessness

Are we at a point with AI where we are going to accept a “textbook” response as “good enough”? Not only is Google AI like Bard a conversations black hole, which is perfect for what Google/Alphabet want since it perpetuates a cycle of asking them questions. But they also have to take a very vanilla/centrist stance on everything due to the backlash that ChatGPT got with its responses. At this point, with how sanitized all their responses have to be, its just better to look at a textbook — or literally Google search for what you’re looking for. From what I’ve seen in some of these Google AI conversations, they’ll write out a whole “conversation” with not a single reply or message worth its virtual weight in salt.

And I’m not saying Google AI isn’t useful. No. You can use it as a good starting point. But Google’s AI is not a conversationalist, and it’s not even a good search engine. It’s a tool that helps you refine your Google search to get what you’re looking for. What’s the point of having an AI which you’d rather consult a search engine anyway?
