So, I was with my son (5) at the grocery store. My son doesn't know how to interact with people yet. So, when people talk to him, he just smiles and looks at the ground. But, today something was different. My son and I were walking out of the store and there was a homeless man sitting on the ground. My son looked at me and asked "Dad, can I go talk to him?" I said of course you can.

The homeless man was sitting on the ground and my son walked up to him and crouched. They had a (what seemed) normal conversation. The homeless man told my son that he was living in the park and that the weather was cold and wet. My son asked him what the park was like at night and the homeless man said that he was scared. My son then told the homeless man that he looked like a superhero. The homeless man asked my son "what makes you think that?" My son replied "Because you live outside." Then my son said "I'm going to go ask my dad for some money." My son got $5 from me and gave it to the homeless man and then walked away.

The homeless man yelled out to my son and said "You know what? I'm not scared of the dark anymore." As we walked through the park, my son saw 2 more homeless people and he gave them the last of his money that he had. I just wanted to share this story because I thought it was very weird that my son acted out of character and did something nice for someone else. I feel like we experienced something special and I will never forget it.
