I was almost kidnapped by a man a few years ago

I would just like to start off by saying this actually happened to me and that this is a very scary thought for me.

This happened when I was 13, almost turning 14, and was walking home from school with my friends. I was a bit separated from them because we had just gotten a new class that we went to as a group and I had to go to one classroom, while they went to another. They were actually in the classroom right next to me, but I didn't know that and thought that they went to a classroom on the other side of our school, which is actually pretty big, even after getting an extension done on it a few years back (still a bit under construction as of now).

So I got a text message from my best friend that asked where I was and I told him that I was going home. Not shortly after my phone died, so I couldn't text anyone anymore. When I actually arrived at home, no one was there, because both of my parents were away at work and my little brother was at a club or something like that. My best friend then tried to call me, but I couldn't answer, because, as I said, my phone was dead and I had no charger at home. So he got really worried, because I didn't answer his texts anymore and he assumed that something had happened to me. My parents also got notified by him and my mom later went to our school, asking if I had stayed after school or got detention, but I didn't. They then looked at the CCTV camera footage and saw me walking home alone, but it only stopped at a certain point, where I turned a corner and was out of the camera's reach (our school is located at a corner, so we had to walk a bit around to get to the street where I live, because it just a bit further that street).

I didn't know any of this at the time, because I got home without any problems and was watching t.v. when my mom got home. She was panicking a bit and almost immediately asked me where I was, but I told her that I was just at home, watching t.v. and then she asked why I didn't tell anyone where I was going and I answered, that they had texted me and that my phone had died. But when we looked at the footage together, I actually saw a man almost immediately follow me and do the same corner-cut as I did. He then crossed the street and went to some bushes at the other side of the street, where he stayed until I was out of sight of the camera. I am certain that he was actually following me, because he had looked at the camera and seen that I was going home alone and he could have gotten me if he had just run to me.

I am still pretty shaken up about it and I don't think I will ever forget what he looked like. But I didn't actually tell anyone about this on here until now, because I feel like it was a good time as any and I think I might be able to sleep better, when I know that someone on here has read my story and knows what could have happened to me if he had gotten a hold of me. He was a pretty tall and skinny guy with black hair and a black leather jacket. I am a bit disappointed in myself, because I think that I might have forgotten the color of his shoes and pants, but I am almost certain that he had black pants on.

So to the man that was stalking me and probably wanted to kidnap me, let's not meet.

Edit: Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'm doing fine. I'm really thankful for all of the helpful advice some of you gave me and for all of the rewards.
