You don't choose what you get implanted in your head. You are as helpless as a factory produced robot.

Your personality and interests are shaped by the state of your unconsciousness. It is a never ending process of your brain and your eyes processing everything you see and then as the results of the processing you get an updated version of yourself in your head. When you say you "decided" to do something, this just a script your brain is following and your conscious mind is also scripted as well. You can't decide who you want to be, because your personality is a sum of all your experiences, and there's no possible way to be someone else, since you don't know and don't understand what it is like to be someone else. When you say person A is a criminal and he was a victim of society, and you say person B is intelligent and he also has a gene that makes him special - person A will still be himself, and person B will still be himself. You can't just choose to wake up one day and decide to be a different person. Person A and person B are playing their roles and their script will never change and person A will still be a criminal and person B will still be intelligent. This idea that you can decide your future and be someone else is a lie.<br><br>Edit: This is what i mean when i say personality is not a social construct, it is the sum of all experience, the role we play in life.
