I made a mistake..

I'm a 3rd grade teacher and I made a mistake. I called a child the wrong name. <br><br>I start school with a homeroom class then have 2 other groups of students for English. I'm realizing now that I didn't have a seating chart for that group and I'm already screwing up their names. <br><br>I know this is common and probably most of us screw up names this time of year. But this kiddo is not doing well this year. They have lost a parent and it's just a lot. I didn't mean to do this. I know it was just a mistake but I can tell this child is already feeling sad and I just hate that I made it worse. <br><br>Any advice for this teacher?
