The meme "women are not attracted to money, they are attracted to what money can do for them" is not entirely correct.

Women are not attracted to money. They are attracted to what money can buy for THEIR children. It's almost as if they're genetically programmed to do this. They want high social status, nice cars, nice homes, jewelry, etc, because they want to give these things to their children in preparation for when their children leave the nest. <br><br>In this sense, the "traditional" American family and motherhood are one in the same as the "hypergamy" that feminists are pushing. The difference between the two, is one provides an incentive for men to earn money, whereas the other does not.
