Exclusive: Microsoft has expressed interest in buying Pinterest

Microsoft Corp has approached Pinterest Inc about a potential acquisition of the image-sharing app, a person familiar with the matter said. The talks are currently in the very early stages, the person added, and it's unclear whether Pinterest is open to a sale. Pinterest shares rose about 6% in extended trading late Wednesday following this report.
