Are we living in a simulation or is our consciousness living inside a quantum simulation?

Ok, I know many people probably here that the "Simulation Theory" has been old news but I'd like to bring up quantum simulations and how they could be linked. Anyhow, I'd like to get straight into it. <br><br>Not everyone will agree with this but if this were the case then we could have people experiencing different realities and alternate dimensions or timelines. For example, people who claim they have experienced Mandela affects. <br><br>But what makes me wonder if we're living in a simulation is that we're not fully understanding how quantum simulations work and how much material is needed. I can't really find any good sources on it, so I'm here to discuss it and see what people have to say.<br><br>I don't know what the cost or limitation of computing power to run a quantum simulation is, but I am aware that we're not able to run a quantum simulation today, at least not to the level where it could simulate an entire universe. But what if there's other ways of running a quantum simulation for example using quantum materials or other forms of technology in the field of quantum mechanics. <br><br>But is it just a concept or is it actually being used today? I don't know if there are currently any active quantum simulations running right now, so I'd like to know if it has already been used on a large scale. <br><br>It's not hard to imagine that quantum simulations exist and that they have been running for some time now, so what if our reality is a quantum simulation in itself. There could be thousands of them and they could be running inside of other quantum simulations. Who knows. In fact, quantum simulations could potentially be infinite. <br><br>Each quantum simulation could represent a different dimension, timeline or reality. So, if our reality is simulated then we could also be living in a simulation that's infinitely large with thousands of other simulations running inside it, so we could potentially access other dimensions or timelines if that's what they are. <br><br>Or we could be living in a world that's inside another quantum simulation and we don't know it, or we could be living in a world that's inside another simulation that's inside another simulation and so on without end. <br><br>So, what if this is also how consciousness works and our reality is just a projection of our consciousness which is a quantum simulation, so if this is the case then our consciousness is not just living in a simulated reality but inside a quantum simulation created by our consciousness, so it would be like our reality is simulated twice. <br><br>This is just speculation and I'm just bringing it up for discussion, I'm not stating this as a fact. <br><br>What are your thoughts on this?
