CMV: There are too many states in the United States, and the country would be a better place if there were only 10 states.

I think that if the US was broken up into 10 states (each state would have around 30 million people), the country would be a better place. If the country was broken up this way, we would have smaller states that would be more specialized and tailored to the needs and culture of the citizens of those states. If this happened, the US would have more independent states that are able to function on their own and that would have more regional culture as a result. This would also lead to more regional diversity within the US on the scale of the EU in Europe. The US, clearly, could be broken up into states with a European scale region and culture, and if the US did that, it would be better off regional diversity-wise. Also, with only 10 states, the citizens would have more of a voice and the states would be represented more fairly, and would have more independent and specialized governments that could tailor to the regional needs of its citizens. So, if the US only had 10 states, the citizens and the states would be more independent and specialized and the US would be a better place.

Edit: This is what I would propose as a possible 10 state solution, with the boundaries. Also sorry for the font and size, I'm on mobile, it's the best I can do.

New Hampshire: New England

· Massachusetts

· Vermont

· Connecticut

· Rhode Island

· Delaware

· Pennsylvania

· New York

· Maine

· New Jersey

Florida: The South Atlantic

· North Carolina

· Georgia

· Maryland

· South Carolina

· West Virginia

· Virginia

· Kentucky

Washington: The Pacific

· Oregon

· California

· Nevada

North Dakota: The Midwest

· Minnesota

· Iowa

· Wisconsin

· Nebraska

· Kansas

· Montana

· North Dakota

· Wyoming

· South Dakota

Texas: The Southern Plains

· Oklahoma

· Arkansas

· Louisiana

· Mississippi

· Tennessee

· Alabama

· Missouri

Michigan: The Great Lakes

· Ohio

· Indiana

· Illinois

Alaska: Alaska and Hawaii

· Hawaii

Arizona: The Four Corners

· Utah

· Nevada

· Colorado

· Idaho

· New Mexico

· Arizona

· Oklahoma

· Kansas

· Nebraska

· Wyoming

· South Dakota

· Montana

· North Dakota

· Minnesota

Nebraska: The Mountains

· Indiana

· Ohio

· West Virginia

· Indiana

Edit2: I'd just like to clarify that I'm not advocating for the US government to split into 10 states. I'm saying that if the US was broken up into 10 states, that would be better than the current system.
