Where should I go in the US in the Spring if I have 5 days and $500?

I'd love to travel this spring, but I dont have a lot of money. What would be the best place to go in the US if I have 5 days and $500? I'd want to go somewhere with unique natural beauty, but that also has people with character. Ive heard that Asheville, NC is beautiful and has art, but is it possible to get by with just $500 for the whole trip? If so, how? I live in the Indianapolis area, so I have about an 11 hour drive to Asheville, which I dont mind, but is there anything a shorter drive that would be better for the season?<br><br>The trip will be for me and a friend and we're both in our mid 30s. We're both pretty chill people, so it doesn't have to be a party place, but it would be cool to see some live music.
