How screwed are we if Republican wins in 2024?

I've been listening to people like Bolton, Bolton's ex-chief of staff, Trump, DeSantis, etc. I'm starting to get really worried that they'll just use the office of the presidency to do whatever they want to do. I don't necessarily think Trump would get away with it if he wins, but if it's DeSantis, he'd run train on the constitution.
