I destroyed a public bathroom after waking up from an alcohol induced black out, I don’t remember any of it.

I drink heavily on the weekends with my friends. We met up at a bar/arcade and had many beers while we played games. I feel like I might have had one too many within a short amount of time because the last thing I remember was drinking a beer and playing a video game, and the next thing I remember is being at my friend’s house passed out in his bed. The next morning I asked my friend what happened the night before, and he just told me I got extremely drunk and hasn’t elaborated on it since.

I eventually got home, and everything was fine and dandy until I had to use the bathroom. I went in and noticed the shower curtain was on the ground, ripped and soggy. I didn’t think much of it, because my cats like to knock things over, and I assumed it was just that.

After I finished my business I reached to flush the toilet but noticed it was clogged. Now I don’t know if this is a female thing, but it’s my first time as a female having such a problem so bare with me. I looked in the cabinet and found the plunger, as I usually do, but this time when I used it, nothing would unclog it. I thought to myself “this is very weird.” so I went to grab some baking soda to pour in as well.

I go back into the bathroom, and as I’m pouring the powder I notice the bathtub is filled with water. I started to feel confused, and started to question if I got extremely drunk and did something belligerent to my shower. I go back into the living room and call my friend at this point.

I asked him what did I do last night, and he told me how I went to the bathroom at the bar and when I didn’t come out for 10 minutes my friend went to check on me but I had already left out the back door and called an Uber to go home. He said he didn’t tell me what really happened because he didn’t want to make me feel worse about the situation. He told me that when he got to my house that the bathtub was overflowing, water was everywhere, the shower curtain was on the ground, and the back door was wide open. I can’t get over the fact that I don’t remember doing any of that, and I’m even more confused because how did I even turn on the water if I don’t remember it. I must have blacked out and not realized how bad my body was reacting to the alcohol. I destroyed my own bathroom, so I’m writing this as a cautionary tale.

The damage is already done, but I just want to say if you drink heavily be careful, because I never thought in a million years I would black out from drinking.
