This is the same type of thinking that kept China isolated for 400 years under the Qing. And now that they’ve basically caught up with the West, he wants to isolate them again?<br><br>We already know what happens when China is isolated to their own devices for too long. The nation is INERT. And that only serves to help the Communist Party.<br><br>Isolation of a nation does not solve anything. Neither does isolation of a group of people. It only serves to make them more dangerous.<br><br>Cutting off China is not going to solve anything. We already know to keep our distance from them. It’s not like we’re getting a better deal from them at the beginning of the pandemic saying that they’re super reliable and to abandon our own domestic manufacturing. And it’s not like we’re relying on their oil to power our economy.<br><br>Someone at the top needs to stop this China obsession and start to talk about the future. Yes, acknowledge that China is not a good friend of ours. But we still have a million other problems to solve on our way into the future. We know the China problem already exists. Why does that mean that we have to torture ourselves by constantly trying to cut them off? It’s only going to make us look weaker.
