How would you explain Tinder to your parents in the 80s?

I think I would tell them its a very complicated dating service where you have to wear your best clothes for every picture, but you aren't allowed to do your hair or wear make up, and you have to be partially clothes for at least 50% of them, even if you're a girl that doesn't normally do that sort of thing.

Also about half the people are in groups, and you have to figure out who you are matching with. Sometimes its one, sometimes its all of them, sometimes its neither because the most sexually appealing person in the group isn't even participating, but you can still dream.

Also, if you choose someone, you don't get to talk to them. You have to first talk to a mediator. The mediator is the same person as the person you chose, kind of like a method actor, but they won't admit it to you, and you won't admit it to yourself for awhile. This mediator used to be a real person hired by the service, but now its just the method actor.

You choose based only on looks, but you can read a short paragraph on their preferences. Sometimes this paragraph is about what they want in a person, sometimes its about what they have to offer, and sometimes its completely random phrases with no grammar.

You have to go through about 50 people a day or you will miss your window of opportunity.
