My husband wants to marry a second wife, and I do not.

Let's call my husband "Adam" (because he is not the Adam in the Bible, but the Adam in the Koran). He was born in Egypt, and I am in college to be an Arabic teacher. I am American, and I am also Muslim, but my faith is a little different than his, and I do not agree with all of the teachings of the Koran. He does, and that is his right as a Muslim.<br><br>Adam and I met in college, and we have been married for ten years. We have two sons. He is a great father, and a loving husband. Adam is good to me, and he has never been mean or abusive in any way. He is a great man with a good job, good friends, and a good heart. <br><br>I was born into an American family and do not have any strong feelings for or against polygamy. I am married, and I want my marriage to be happy and healthy for a long time. When I met Adam, I did not know that he wanted a second wife. We talked about it for the first time last week.<br><br>I do not want to have a second wife. One wife is enough for me. <br><br>Adam tells me that it is my right to leave the marriage, and that it is also my right to stay and be married to him even if he marries another wife. I am not sure what to do. I love him, but I do not want to be married to a man who is married to somebody else. It feels like a sin, and it feels like it is an attack on me.<br><br>Adam also says that we are living in America, and that America does not allow polygamy. But he says that he is a Muslim, and that polygamy is legal in Islamic law if all of the wives agree to it. He tells me that it is his right as a Muslim to have four wives, and that it is also his right to ask me to marry another man if I am not happy with our marriage.<br><br>I am not sure if I want to divorce him or stay with him. I have already said that I do not want to be married to him if he marries another wife. I would rather leave than stay.<br><br>I am scared.
