I feel like I’m more afraid of my pet snake getting loose than a loose snake is afraid of me

It’s like… no, he’s scared of you, dude. Not the other way around. <br><br>Edit: I know that’s the case for most pets but snakes kinda have an unfair reputation so this part is important <br><br>Edit 2: I understand if some people don’t like snakes. I’ll probably never convince you to get one. That isn’t my goal. I just want you to be able to look at a snake and say “oh, some people have those as pets. I don’t want one, but that’s fine”. Instead of “Ew, why would I ever…?” <br><br>Edit 3: Also, if you have a fear of snakes, it’s ok. We all have something that makes us uncomfortable, and that’s fine. The problem is that a lot of people who scream at the sight of a snake just perpetuate the fear cycle, and it never gets better.
