CMV: The US is not a single country, it is a confederation of states.

The US is a union of states with a federal government in a similar way to the EU. The EU has a single currency, the US has a single currency. The EU has free movement, the US has free movement. The EU has a supreme court that has the right to decide laws for the whole EU, the US has the Supreme Court for the same purpose. <br><br>This is also evident in many things, for example a US citizen living in Germany has access to go into any country in the Schengen Area, a French citizen living in Germany has the same access, so both countries are the same. But if a US citizen living in Germany goes to the US, they only have the permission to go into one state, in this case, Germany. So by this logic the US is a confederation of states.
