I think it's a strange phenomenon which I have genuinely come across in recent years. I think part of it relates to social media but I'm not sure.

Does anyone else have this feeling like the world is a darker and more brutal place than it was in the past. I have genuinely come across videos and accounts of unthinkable acts of violence on social media platforms which have shocked me to my core.

I have looked back at some of the acts of violence which were committed in the past and I think the world has genuinely become a darker place. I even think the world was a better place in the 1960s when the civil rights movement took place and in the 1940s when WWII took place.

I have looked at some of the crimes which were committed in the past, such as the holocaust and the gassing of people in concentration camps, the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the lynchings of black people during the civil rights movement, the attacks on 9/11, the mass shootings and bombings in the Middle East, the gassing of civilians in Syria/Iraq. I do think that the world is a better place than it was in the 1940s or 1960s but I do have this feeling that the world is a very dark and brutal place.

I was just wondering if anyone else has this feeling like the world is a dark and brutal place with no good in it anymore or if this feeling which I'm experiencing is a result of social media and the algorithms which are used to show us content.

I was just wondering if anyone has this feeling or if this feeling is unique to me.
