CMV: It's totally valid to like the music you like without becoming obsessed with the artist.

I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but I just feel it's valid to like music, no matter who it's by, without having to become obsessed with the artist themselves. I guess the word "Artist" makes it harder because people automatically think of the people behind the music. I just like the sound. No matter who it was made by. People always tell me I need to find an artist whose music I like and listen to more of that person. I just don't care about them, I care about the music. I can't stand it when people want me to become obsessed with them, just because I like the song. You can like a song without becoming obsessed with the artist, and like an artist's specific songs without liking all the others they make. I just feel it's totally valid to like the music you like, without having to become obsessed as well.
