I'm glad you didn't take my luggage

This is a story I posted on r/askteenboys back in the day but it's relevant here. I was 13 years old at the time and travelling to Australia, alone, to visit family. It's a long ass flight, 26 hours from Seattle, so you spend a lot of time waiting in airports.

As I was sitting there, bored, I noticed the most beautiful guy ever. He asked me if I was ok when he saw me crying because I was so scared and I told him that I had never flown alone before and was terrified of crashing and dying. Then I called my mom to make sure we were in the right spot, because I had not travelled alone yet as a minor. He offered me his earbuds and let me listen to his music so I could calm down and almost immediately, we were called to board the flight.

I thanked him and realized that both of us were walking towards the same door when he offered to carry one of my bags for me. I was a dumb kid so I gave it to him and he took me to my seat. After I sat down, he told me that he had to go to his seat and left with my bag. I didn't see him again until the flight attendants started telling everyone to put their electronic devices away but that's when the pilot announced that we were turning back due to mechanical failure.

I freaked out, mostly because I was positive that we were going to crash and die. Both of the men sitting in my row were trying to calm me down when one pointed behind me, to this beautiful man's smile. The flight attendants were buckling people in and telling everyone to prepare for an emergency landing when he made it back to me and held my hand.

When we landed safely, he let me called my mom to let her know what was happening and then he had lunch with me in the airport before our new flight boarded. I offered to buy his lunch but he told me that I was too young to be carrying so much money. I didn't fight it because I knew that my mom would rather I didn't tell anyone how much money I had.

We talked for hours and I learned that not only were we on the same flight, but in the same row. I was so excited to have a friend for the long flight when I asked to go to the bathroom and he said that he really had to get something from the gift shop. I told him that I could wait for him, even though they were calling our flight, because he had been nothing but nice to me.

He told me that he really had to get something and had to go. I didn't want him to miss the plane so I told him that I would meet him on the plane since they hadn't closed the door yet. He was insistent that I go and he would be there in just a minute.

That's when the man from my row, that helped me on the plane, grabbed my arm and pulled me away. He told me that I Was going to the police and to not look back. When we were out of sight, he let me ask what was going on and he told me that the man who was helping me had gotten off the plane with my bag and was trying to leave the airport with all of my luggage.

The police came and took my statement then took me back to the gate just in time to board. The guy from my row went with me and sat next to me. He introduced himself as Mr. Thompson and told me that he used to work in security so it was "his job" to help me get through this flight safely.

Throughout the rest of my trip, I found out that Mr. Thompson was actually a retired US Marshall that was returning from the trial of a man he had caught. He was the reason that I got all my stuff back and that I wasn't sold into slavery.

So, guy who tried to kidnap me, I'm glad that you didn't take my luggage because if you did, who knows what would have happened to me.

Edit: Since there seems to be confusion, I was in first class, which is where Mr. Thompson and I were sitting, but "beautiful guy" was sitting in coach. That's why we didn't see each other when we sat down. Also, I didn't have just money in my bag, there was my phone, change of clothes, snacks, water, tablet, gaming system, books, and several other things that I needed to get through a long flight.
