Did the United States really have military bases in China from 1942-1949

Did the United States really have military bases in Yunnan and/or Sichuan provinces (or various other locations) in China from 1942-1949 (or even to 1950). I've tried to find information on this for the longest time, but I can't really pull up anything substantial.
