I'm a guy who's been having sex with a neighbor while her husband is away for 3 months; now it's over and I'm devastated

We (M35) live in a housing complex where everyone knows each other. I guess you could say it's a real close-knit community where people are always having potluck suppers and partys and other stuff like that. Anyways there's this one lady (F32) that lives across the street from me. She's married with two teenage daughters and we've all ways gotten along great. We've always been friendly and she was never inconsiderate or anything. <br><br>I've been single for 8 years ever since my wife passed away in a car accident. With Covid and everything helping around the neighborhood and stuff I've been hanging out with my neighbor more and more. I guess you could say we were becoming good friends. But in the mid summer she asked me if I wanted to come over and watch some TV and have some beers. I accepted and being that she was no longer married to her husband (he had to move away for 3 months) she started hitting on me bad. <br><br>We were both pretty drunk and she kept talking about how lonely she was and how she missed a man's touch. I was pretty receptive to her and we ended up going to her bedroom. After that first night we just kept having sex whenever we could. Her teenage daughters partied most nights so we never had to worry about that. Anyways we basically had a full blown affair that lasted until yesterday when her husband came back. It was actually the first time I've met the guy. <br><br>During our whole affair, we never talked about what would happen when her husband came back. I always just assumed he'd never find out. But sometimes I guess I felt like she wanted to leave him. Anyways yesterday when I saw her, she acted cold towards me. She ignored my text and kept saying she was busy with her husband. I guess I just feel empty inside. I never felt that way about anyone for years and it just feels like I was taken advantage of. I just hope I never have to see her face again.
