What is the deal with teachers bragging that they can’t be replaced by AI?

This is the 3rd post I’ve seen this week about how we can’t be replaced by AI because of how good we are.

I don’t think AI is ready to be a full time classroom teacher, and while AI can do some cool things, at the moment it can do a lot of the things we do. If you haven’t seen a decent AI chatbot in action, I recommend doing so. Many of the AI dev companies are hiring teachers to work on training their AI to be better teachers.

Yeah, we are good at what we do and we do a lot that can’t be replicated by AI… yet. I am sure schools will start to find ways to effectively use AI in the classroom.

This is true of so many jobs- we are good at what we do, but it doesn’t mean we can’t be replaced. I think a lot of the people posting about it are forgetting that.

Edit: I’ve never seen a post brushing off the idea of AI replacing teachers. It’s always “look at how great I am at my job! Nothing can replace me!”

I just think it’s a weird flex and something we shouldn’t be proud of.
