I stole a pair of underpants from Walmart to get more time with a coworker

It was 17 years ago, and my co-worker, Gina, and I were friends. We'd often go to the same stores as part of our beat as loss prevention officers. So, I decided to steal a pair of underwear from Walmart. I folded them up in a compact square and placed them in my left front pocket, just above my gun. I walked out of the store, Gina did the same. Our supervisor came out, asked for our badges and said that we needed to go down to the police station. I asked him why he was doing this to us, to which he replied, "You're not going to let me get away with this, are you?" I denied taking anything, insisting that I didn't have anything on me. He searched me and found the underwear. He asked me to come back to the office, but I refused, telling him to either take me to the police station or to fuck off. We ended up going to the police station, where they took a report but didn't arrest us. Gina was fired, and I was suspended for 30 days without pay. This experience taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of honesty and integrity.
