CMV: Most of the people I have met are stupid when it comes to having common sense.

So I'm 17 years old, and with my age group I'm sure many of you will be tempted to dismiss this and say that I'm just this "angsty teenager who doesn't like the way the world works" and that I "will grow out of it by the time I'm an adult." I'm sure many of you will think that, and you may be right. I do actually think I have common sense, or at least more then some people I know. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a perfect human being and I have screwed up before as well. I'm not saying everyone besides me is stupid, and there are some people who I consider to be very smart with good common sense, but it seems like the majority of the people I run into are idiots when it comes to common sense and making smart decisions- at least the ones I have met.

I've seen a guy who fell asleep on the bus and instead of waking him up and having someone make sure he gets home safely, the people on the bus were giddy with excitement and decided to walk up and take a selfie with him while he was asleep, and they were all snickering and laughing at the fact he was asleep. I've seen a guy who is way bigger then me walk into a 7-11 and the lady was like "what can I get for you tonight sir" and he just says "GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR FUCKING MONEY OR ELSE I WILL BLOW THIS FUCKING BUILDING UP!" And the lady just stands there frozen in fear like a deer in headlights, and no one does anything. I know the lady was in fear for her life, but wouldn't you think there is one person who is willing to stand up and not let this happen? Nope.

I've also seen people say things that they really shouldn't be saying. For instance, I was in a public restroom when I was talking to a guy I met in there and he asked me what kind of music I like, and I told him that I like all kinds of music. He then asks me if I like Lil Dicky, and I didn't answer because I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable, and he's like "nice, do you think he's better then me?" And I'm like "um, yeah, I think so," and he's like "oh, thanks man." Then he pulls out a recorder and starts rapping into it, and I'm like holy shit this guy is actually kind of good. I told him that and he's like "thanks man" and he then pulls out a kitchen knife and put it to his own throat and says "I don't care what you think, because I'm about to go home and kill myself." And then I'm just standing there like "shit, what do I do now" and I say "I didn't mean to offend you, you're good. Just calm down" and I tell one of the other people in there to go get the people at the front desk to come and check on this guy and make sure he's okay, and I'm still in the stall trying to finish my business and the guy comes in and checks in the stall next to me and is like "oh, sorry about that. Sometimes he gets like that." I'm like "what the fuck" and the guy is like "sometimes he gets like that" and just walks out.

I could go on and on about all of the weird things I have witnessed and experienced, but I think this should be enough in my opinion to state my case. I know that there are smart people out there with good common sense, but I also believe that there are a lot of people out there who aren't. I also don't think that me being a teenager is enough to dismiss my opinion about this, and I think it's pretty much common sense to know this.

But you can change my view if you think I'm wrong, and with a mod approved comment and valid reasoning to back it up, I'll give you a cool little ribbon like this:

Edit: Wow, did not think this was going to blow up. Thank you guys for the awards, and I'll try to keep up with the comments. Also, thank you mods for approving my post.
