A question for philosophers, why do you philosophize?

I am a chemistry major. I never really had a hard time understanding why I do what I do. I've always loved science and chemistry. Philosophy, however, has always been something I find interesting and irreplaceable in my life, but I don't know why I do it and what I want out of it. I don't know if I want to make it a career, a hobby, or just something I do to get through the day. One thing is for sure, I can't stop thinking of it. So why do you do what you do?
