Question about retiring at 50

I’m 36 and recently got a small inheritance. I didn’t plan on becoming a teacher, but the pay was good and I’m pretty good at being a teacher. I’m a high school math teacher and I’m content.

This inheritance will dry up one day and I’m not sure about being in the classroom long term. I’m planning on living abroad in Mexico for several years and this inheritance will help replace my income.

I’m afraid that I’ll lose health insurance. I won’t be abroad forever but I also want to retire and I have no savings.

If I teach until I’m 50, with my inheritance can I live on my pension and also afford health insurance? I’m not particularly a saver, but I’m not a reckless spender either.

I’m not sure if I should go back to a other careers - can’t imagine making a career change right now.

Thanks for the advice.
