I just bought my first firearm and I'm going to a range to test it tonight.
I'm not sure what to expect, but I've chosen to purchase a Taurus TX 22. I know it's not a "high end" firearm, but it's on the cheaper side and I just want to learn how to use it properly. I've done extensive research, but there's only so much you can learn from reading.
I've got my ears, eyes, and a couple hundred rounds to test it. Wish me luck.

Edit: Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll definitely be on the lookout for proper handling when I'm there. I'll also bring a small first aid kit just in case anything happens

Edit #2: Just an update, my first time shooting went amazingly well. I didn't have a single problem with my firearm and nobody around me was being unsafe, so that was a huge win-win. I'm already wanting to go back and practice, so that's a good sign. Thanks for all the advice everyone.
