I've talked about this with my partner and friends and they've had mixed responses. I don't think that I have to 'give back' or that it's a moral duty or responsibility to have children. While I was forced onto this planet, I don't feel like I owe anything in return.

Of course, humans have an innate desire to reproduce but is it really a moral responsibility? Is it selfish for me to not have them? I don't want to have children, how much of a burden am I putting onto the next generation by not having them? I feel like I'd be creating more problems by having them when I don't want them.

I believe the world is overpopulated as it is. I don't think that the earth or society needs more people.

Wouldn't I be doing more harm in the long run than good? Is it selfish to not want to have kids?

Sorry this post is really poorly written but I just want to know if I'm being selfish by not wanting to bring more people into the world?
