My (22f) boyfriend (24m) of 10 months told me that he wanted to be part of a couple that loses their virginity to each other. How red flag is this?

I wanted to know how red flag what he said to me was and I am also looking for advice on what to do about it, but the first is more important. My bf and I were having a conversation about our sex lives before me and he mentioned that he was a virgin when we met. I pressed for details about his past sexual history and he said he didn’t really have one aside from sexual experiences with me. I thought this was sweet and also made me feel better since as a woman my sex life is often interrogated. I asked him why he waited and he said he wanted to be able to tell the girl he loved that he was a virgin so that they could lose their virginity together. I asked him if he wanted that with me and he said no. He also added that I was the only girl he has ever loved. He said he wanted this because he felt like when a couple loses their virginity together that the love is more pure. I asked him if this meant that since we didn’t do that our love is impure and he said yes. <br><br>I asked him why I am the only girl he is in love with if our love isn’t pure and he said I am perfect for him in every other way. He said that he is happy with the relationship we have now and that he isn’t going to leave me because the love isn’t “pure”. I was pretty stunned and upset by his whole admission which is why I didn’t really say much of a response to him other than to reiterate that I don’t find someone a good partner if they think the love isn’t pure just because of past sexual relationships. He told me I was overreacting and that it’s okay because he isn’t going to find another girl to do that with. He said that he loves me more than I love him and I don’t think that’s true. I also don’t think that his sentiment makes our love impure. I am just wondering how big of a red flag this is in regards to his overall attitude towards sex and love?
