I love sad anime. Your Lie in April, Plastic Memories, Shigofumi, Elfen Lied, A Silent Voice, Charlotte, AnoHana, I want to Eat Your Pancreas, Your Name, Overlord, The Promised Neverland...I'm sure there are more, but I don't want to bore you with a long list.

Instead of listing the ones I like, I'd rather hear suggestions for other anime that capture the emotional depth, and storyline of the type mentioned above.I haven't had enough an emotional connection when watching other types of anime. I don't mind if it's a happy ending, as long as it's an emotional rollercoaster while watching it.

Any suggestions?

Edit: Wow, I didn't expect it to blow up like this. I'll do my best to get back to everyone, and I'll definitely look into the recommendations

Edit 2: If you have any recommendations in other mediums (games, movies, books), feel free to share those as well. I've gotten a few recommendations for other media types, and I'll definitely be looking into them as well
