My wife told me that she sleepwalked and found our front door open, despite having locked it after walking the dog before bed. (I was dead asleep and didn't wake up, so that's why this happened).

I asked her if maybe she forgot to lock the door from the outside, which she insisted was not the case. She walked the dog, she came in and pressed the button to lock the door, and then she went back upstairs and fell asleep.

She said that after she woke up she roamed around the house looking for me, couldn't find me, then somehow ended up back at the front door, she opened it (which was open only about 1 inch), went outside, took in some fresh air, looked around, went back in, couldn't find me again, went back upstairs and then somehow ended up in the bathroom. That's where she snapped out of it, as she was staring at herself in the mirror.

What really gets me is that she remembers me wasn't there. She remembers opening the door, closing it, walking around outside, looking down both ends of the street. She remembers not seeing me or the dog.

But she said that at first, she didn't know where she was. When she went outside, she thought she was at her parents house from when she was a kid. She was asking herself why the neighborhood looked different. She was sniffing the air, and she smelled what smelled like the town she used to live in. She remembered walking to the mailbox, and the trash can, and then looking up at the windows to see if anyone was awake, but she said that she always felt she was being watched, and that she heard steps behind her, but even when she turned around she never saw anyone. She said that it felt like she was in a different place.

She said that she was in a daze. She always hears about sleepwalking but never experienced this. She said that she felt like she was in a dream and everything was foggy.

What was weird was she said she saw a man in front of her on her street but couldn't make out who he was, but he walked up to her and said "don't look behind you" and then everything went black. She woke up, snapped out of it, and she was back in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror, wondering what just happened. She wandered around for a few minutes to make sure I wasn't somewhere else in the house and then eventually found me in bed.

She's saying that this happened at 4am, and that she wandered around the house for about an hour, not really realizing where she was or what was happening. I know this isn't bizarre to some people, but this really freaked me out.

Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening, or something similar happen to them?
