Historians, what are you seeing in terms of the long view of the United States, does it look like the country is fracturing like some are suggesting?

I’m seeing many pieces of evidence that suggest that the country may, or has already begun to fracture along cultural, economic, and political fault lines. I’m not referring to things like Twitter, or cable news. What are you seeing?
