Older posts are getting deleted as they are valued similar to trash

Top of the list are self posts. So any news that are posted with a link and not an image will be removed from the top of the list after a year. Hence this subreddit now looks like a news portal of revolutionary France. So some similar subreddits are now getting a lot of hate for this.
