The vice president of Applications at Apple, Sebastien Marineau-Mes, said that the company’s research and development team wants one day to “make the iPhone a cube that you can take everywhere with you in your pocket”, writes CNET.<br><br>In an interview with the online tech magazine, the executive said that the company feels that the iPhone “should be something like an extension of the human sense of sight”. Apple is considering using AI and machine learning to “extend the human field of view beyond the way it works today”, he explained.<br><br>The 54-year-old also pointed out the Apple Vision Pro as an example of how the iPhone could be developed in the future. With its augmented reality display, the smart glasses feels like a “magical window into another world” according to the tech giant. “In my opinion, the iPhone should be magical in the way it works, in the way it reacts to the user, in the way it extends your human capabilities,” said Marineau-Mes.<br><br>The new version of the operating system, iOS 18, also wants to improve the device’s camera feature. Apple has improved its Portrait mode, and the AI is better at identifying objects in the images. The Portrait mode also makes it easier to take artistic portraits of moving objects like pets.<br><br>The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max also features a new 48MP telephoto camera, and with a 5x optical zoom feature, users can take clearer and more zoomed-in portraits. The new ultra-wide camera also features a 24MP sensor, which is double the resolution of the feature in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.<br><br>As for the battery life, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max features a 25 percent larger battery and an improved A18 Pro chip, giving users a battery that lasts “all day” according to Apple. Apple also claims to have improved the device’s water resistance, by increasing the water level from 4 meters to 6 meters.
