Being an active addict is way worse than being a passive addict.

I'm a smoker who has cut back from a pack a day to 2-3 a day and a heavy drinker who has cut back from 8-10 drinks on weekends to 2-3. I am still addicted to both and am physically and mentally dependent on them but I don't think I am nearly as bad as someone who is actively high or drunk and actively doing drugs.
