I’ve been in a relationship with my boyfriend for about 5 years.

He’s an amazing partner to me: in every way but one.

He has chronic depression and ADHD. He takes no medications for these problems and barely goes to his therapist.

This is not the problem.

The problem is that he has a REALLY bloated belly. He believes it could be a hernia, but the only time he’s gone to see a doctor about it was when I begged him. He didn’t listen to the doctor’s advice, and never even went back for a follow up.

Everytime I bring it up, he insists that he’s not in pain and it’s not a big deal. Honestly I think he’s scared of finding out what’s wrong with him.

I really really want him to get his belly checked out because I love him and I’m super scared he’s going to die. But he won’t, because he believes he can just will it away.

How can I make him go to the doctor? Or how should I approach this issue? I don’t usually mind the belly (I love his big belly). But I’m seriously so worried about his health.

This is just so frustrating because he’s otherwise an amazing person and I can’t imagine living without him.

What can I do to ensure he takes care of himself?
