I am not joking. I just wanted to update you. My son and daughter are both 6 (twins) and each have Autism and ADHD. This is what happened at the meeting.

That said, here is what came out of the meeting. The Director of Board of Education told me that she found an excellent private school for children with Autism and that they can not help me. The school is a 45 minute drive from our house and they do not offer a bus, so we have to put our children on a bus that will carry the children from different areas of the town and bring them to school.

When I mentioned not being able to afford it coming out of pocket, she said that she had 3 meetings with several lawyers in different states and the Board of Education will say this:

"We can not help your children (my son and daughter) and the least restrictive environment would be a private school that can meet the needs of your children. You say you can not handle it, but your actions show otherwise as you found your children a private school and you are handling it. We can not do anything else to help you and the IEPs we provided you are the best we can do and your children will fail in a regular school. If you sue us, we will lose, but we will hire the best lawyers and make you say that you can not handle it. We can use the school you have chosen against you and show that the decision is already made. It is also in the best interest of the children and we will even pay for it."

I thought that she was going to offer to pay for the school or set a special class in an public school, but nope. I'll keep you updated.
