Americans who have traveled to Europe in the past 15 months, how different did you find it?

I'm an Aussie who hasn't been to Europe since 2017-18. My partner and I are planning a trip next month but we are both worried about the changing political and social climate in Western and Central Europe.<br><br>I have read about increased crime in places like Berlin, Paris and London, as well as general animosity in places like Denmark and the Netherlands. I know it can't be as bad as some people on the internet make out but I'm not sure if people on Reddit are exaggerating it or downplaying it.<br><br>We have already decided to avoid places like Italy and France which we have heard are very dirty and crimey.<br><br>What were your experiences like?
