Gender Equality: turns out it was about the women being able to take over the men's roles as well as enjoy their own, not about sharing the burden.

Disclaimer: I'm a woman.

I'm 34 and I've finally come to realize that gender equality means that women want choices about whether they can pursue a career or stay home, but the men don't have a choice in the matter. Gender equality is about women being able to pursue high paying careers, and having the opportunities that men have, getting the luxuries men have, and receiving chivalry from men; but when it comes to the cons there is no equality. Women don't want to be held to the same standard as men, to be judged for the life choices they make. Women don't want to be shamed for being single mothers, but they still want the tax benefits and subsidies, they want the emotional and psychological support and they want it from everyone, they don't want to be held responsible for their own choices. But a single father will be shamed and judged. Women don't want to share the cons, they don't want to be held to the same standards as men, and they want to demonized traditional family and marriage so they enjoy the benefits of having no responsibility and no accountability. Gender equality is about women being able to pursue their desires and enjoy the benefits without any of the consequences. It's about women being able to have children out of wedlock, enjoy going out and being able to get drunk, enjoy dating around, have the career they want, and pursue their passions all without being judged, shamed or held accountable, but still being able to enjoy the luxuries that men work for. And if a woman decides to stay home she wants to be judged and shamed. This isn't about sharing the burden, this is about women wanting choices and men being forced into one role.
