I don’t know what’s going on with my wife but I’m starting to think something is seriously wrong with her.

Three nights ago, I was going to bed and I could have sworn I saw her peeking at me from behind the dresser in the hallway. I realized it was probably just my imagination playing tricks on me. I walked over to the spot I saw her and my wife was nowhere to be seen.

Then the next day, it happened again. I was making food in the kitchen and this time I saw her peeking at me from behind the fridge. Again, when I went over to the spot, she was nowhere to be seen. It made me wonder if maybe I was sleepwalking and somehow saw myself. But I know that I don’t sleepwalk. I tried to convince myself that it was probably my imagination playing tricks on me and that I was just seeing things.

Then yesterday it happened again when I was taking a piss. I literally saw her peeking at me from behind the shower curtain. At that point, I was like “fuck this shit!”. I ran over to the shower curtain but my wife was nowhere to be seen.

I decided I would just confront her about it. She had to be driving me crazy intentionally. So I went downstairs and asked her if she had been spying on me when I was alone in different parts of the house. She replied by saying “no”. I asked her again if she had been spying on me, or peeking at me from corners and from behind random objects when I was alone. This time she replied “no, I haven’t been doing that.”. I asked her one more time and she said “no, I haven’t been doing that at all”.

Then I asked her if she knew why I had been seeing her randomly peeking at me from around random corners of the house when I was alone and she replied by saying “yes!”. I was a bit shocked by how bluntly she answered. I asked her what she meant by answering that way and she said that she knew exactly why I had been seeing her.

Then she walked away and I was left wondering what the hell she meant by that. I know her answer was extremely vague as hell but I didn’t want to keep hounding her with questions so I just let it be.

Last night, I woke up to the sound of my wife laughing. I looked over at her and she was dead asleep. So I thought maybe I imagined it. But then the next morning, I woke up to the sound of her whispering. I looked over at her and she was dead asleep again.

I realized that it must have been her sleep talking that I heard. Typically, my wife never sleep talks at all. Well, at least I have never heard her sleep talk before. So I tried to ignore it and went on with my day.

Then tonight, I was laying in bed with my wife sleeping next to me. It was nighttime and the room was dark. I was just about to fall asleep when I heard another laugh. I thought it was probably my wife sleep laughing and ignored it. But then I heard my wife laughing while also seemingly talking to someone. It sounded like she was saying “you’re right” and “ok”. But I still thought she was just sleep talking/laughing.

But then I heard a voice whisper from the other side of the bed, right next to her. It was a man’s voice. I couldn’t make out what the man was saying, but it sounded like he was talking to my wife. I freaked out and grabbed my wife and started shaking her awake. She woke up screaming and asked me what was going on. I told her that I heard a voice that sounded like a random guy whispering to her.

She had a confused expression on her face. Then she shook her head and said “nothing’s going on” in a very robotic voice while still having that same confused expression on her face. Then she went back to sleep. I was just sitting there like “the hell?”. I didn’t bother trying to wake her up again.

I lay in bed for the rest of the night until I got tired and fell asleep myself.

When I woke up, my wife was gone. I assumed she wasn’t feeling good and was probably just sleeping in. Then I went to work.

When I got home from work, I was shocked to find my wife’s car parked in the driveway. I thought to myself “well then where the hell is she?”. When I walked inside, I couldn’t find her anywhere. I thought to myself “well maybe she went to the store or something and just parked her car in the driveway and left with someone else”.

But I knew that my wife doesn’t do shit like that. I know her habits and daily routines like the back of my hand. She always keeps a routine. No exceptions. And it’s always in a specific order.

So I started looking all over the house for her. I looked in every room on every floor and even checked outside in the backyard. But she was nowhere to be found. I started to get a little worried. So I called her phone. I heard her phone ring from the kitchen, so I went over to the kitchen table and picked it up.

I have no clue where she could have been at that moment in time. I know she had work but it was pretty clear to me she wasn’t going at this point. I continued to look all over the house for her and even looked in the attic, garage, and basement. But she was literally nowhere to be found.

Then I thought to myself “fuck it! I’m gonna go check the neighborhood”. I walked outside and looked up and down both sides of the street to see if I saw her walking around. But she was nowhere to be seen. I even circled around the block a few times looking for her but she was still nowhere to be seen.

So I gave up and went back inside the house. I was going crazy. I know that there had to be an explanation as to where she was. I knew that she couldn’t just *poof* disappear into thin air. So I decided to just wait and see if she comes home.

Then after about an hour of waiting, I saw her car door open and shut. So I knew she was back. Then I heard the front door open and shut. I didn’t even care at that point. I was just so damn relieved to see her.

Then almost like clockwork, she came walking through the doorway with a smile on her face. But as soon as she saw me, she stopped in her tracks. She looked at me with a confused expression on her face and asked “what?”. I was like “what do you mean what?”. She replied by saying “you look like you’ve seen a ghost”.

I was like “well shit! Where the hell were you at?”. Then she looked at me with a pissed off expression on her face. She told me that she was at work. I was like “bullshit! I looked all over the house and even checked the street and the neighborhood for you! I couldn’t find you anywhere!”.

She told me that she was indeed at work and that I must have just missed her when I was looking. I was like “there’s no way in hell I missed her! I looked everywhere!”. Then she told me that I must have been sleepwalking when I was looking for her. I was like “nope! I know I was awake!”.

Then she started walking away. I asked her one more time “where were you really?”. She replied by saying “I told you. I was at work.”. I was like “no you weren’t!”. She kept on walking away and said “I’m gonna go take a bath”. I asked her one more time “were you high or something?”.

Then she stopped in her tracks and turned around. She walked over to me and slapped me in the face as hard as she could. I was almost stunned. I don’t know where she got that much energy from but that shit hurt like hell.

Then she started yelling at me. She told me that I shouldn’t accuse her of doing things that she doesn’t do. I was like “well then explain to me where the hell you were!”. She kept on yelling at me and berating me.

Then she told me that if I ever accused her of something she didn’t do again, then she would leave me. I was like “fine! But only if you stop peeking at me from around corners and behind random objects when I’m alone!”. She told me that she didn’t know what I was talking about.

I asked her “well then why did you say that you knew exactly why I saw you peeking at me?”. She told me that she was just trying to get me to leave her alone.

Then she went silent for a moment and then asked me “you know what? I don’t like the sound of your tone. So I’m going to go take a bath.”. Then she just turned around and walked away.

I stood there silent. I knew that I probably shouldn’t have accused her of lying but I was just so fed up with not knowing what the hell was going on.

The rest of the day, my wife kept to herself. I knew I probably pissed her off bad. I don’t even think she was mad at me. I think she was just pissed off at me because she knew I didn’t believe her.

A few hours later, she went to sleep. I was still awake and I decided to get some food. When I walked into the kitchen, I saw her standing over by the
