So I am 24F and I have a brother, Chris (26M). He has a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old daughter. Their birthdays are close enough that we typically have one birthday party for the both of them.

Chris' wife, Shelly, is a stay at home mom. I have heard her say multiple times that she wants to homeschool the girls. Chris and Shelly are very religious as well.

I got my bachelors degree in child and family development and I work at a daycare center. I am also in my second year of my masters program in child and family development. My degree focuses on the developmental stages of children, the best ways to engage them in activities, what is good toys, what activities should be avoided, and the like.

Chris and Shelly are very aware of my education background. Shelly asked me for some activities that the girls might like. She said she needs something different to do, they get bored of playing with their toys after a while. I suggested a few things that are good for kids at her daughter's ages, such as sensory bottles, stacking and nesting toys, and a ball pit. She thanked me and said she would put it together for them.

Later that day, Chris called me and asked me why I was trying to tell Shelly how to parent. I told him that she had asked me and I told her about a few things that are good for kids at their ages. Chris said she was just trying to be nice and that I should have told her things that she would like. I said that I would never try to do that, she asked me for activities that the girls would like.

He argued and I argued back, in the end I told him Shelly asked me for advice and I told her. She could have rejected it if she didn't like it, but instead she thanked me.

He told me later that Shelly really did use the activities I suggested and the girls loved it. He apologized and said he overreacted.

AITA for saying my brother overreacted and I was just answering a question?
