NFL players, coaches, and referees are complicit in the outcome of their games and are paid well for it. NFL owners also instigated a betting pool to be used in the organized crime operaition. Anyone who wanted to make a bet had to make the bet with the NFL.<br><br>At first, the NFL owners thought they could organized crime without mob help. But the mob saw the operation and saw how much money they were making, so they decided to get in on the action. They used an NFL player as an intermediary, and the NFL decided to let the mob in in an effort to expand to new markets.
