What are your opinions on Inuyasha? Also: Are there even any other anime fans in their 20s/30s?

Just started watching Inuyasha with my friend, and, while it's certainly not the most subtle or most exciting show, I've actually been having a lot of fun with it. Most of the characters have enough personality to be more or less likable, and the plot is engaging in a more simple way. I also like how, unlike with other shows, the fillers don't necessarily feel like fillers. Instead, they're kind of just random episodic stories, but with a narrative that actually makes sense, which is something I really appreciate.

The only real complaints I have are the questionable decisions made by the show with regards to power scaling and the handling of the Sango/Miroku saga, which felt more like the show's one attempt at more serious storytelling, but did it in a pretty poor way, in my opinion.

I've also seen a lot of hate for Inuyasha around this sub, but I'm still enjoying the show over all.

As for the second question in the title... I don't know if this is just something with Reddit, but, as an active fan of anime in my mid-twenties, I've found that the only places I can really discuss anime are here and in a Discord with my friends. IRL, it seems like nobody has ever really heard of the shows I actually like. Most people know Attack on Titan or My Hero Academia, but, aside from those, nobody seems to want to talk about anything besides Dragonball and Naruto. Even when I try to bring up shows like Cowboy Bebop or Death Note, nobody seems to know what I'm talking about. I've also noticed this in the posts and comments on this sub, with most of the posts being about shows that aired after 2010. It's just something that I've noticed, and something that I guess I just wanted to bring up in discussion.
